Solicitors
Accounting support for the business of legal practice.
Clear financial records and practical reporting for sole practitioners, partnerships and legal businesses.
A personal approach to your finances.
Legal practices need to keep a close view of fees billed, amounts still to collect and the costs of delivering client work. Those commercial questions sit alongside the need for carefully organised financial records and clear internal responsibilities.
Taxwell can support the firm’s business accounting, tax and payroll needs within an agreed engagement. We begin by understanding your structure, existing systems and any specialist reporting arrangements already in place.
How Taxwell can help
Business bookkeeping and reconciliations
Organise the firm’s own financial records, reconcile business bank activity and review the information needed for accounts preparation. We agree how records are supplied and how queries will be resolved.
Accounts and tax support
Discuss year-end accounts and the relevant business or partner tax-return work. We take time to establish the practice structure and responsibilities so the engagement reflects the work actually required.
Payroll and practice reporting
Bring staff payroll, overhead reporting and fee-income information into a clearer routine. Useful management reports can help you consider collection patterns, staffing costs and the timing of major commitments.
Turn fee activity into useful management information.
Work undertaken, invoices raised and cash collected are different measures. Reviewing them together can make conversations about pricing, capacity and working capital more productive. We work with the information your systems can provide and agree which reports will be useful for the people managing the practice.
What to bring to our first conversation
- The practice structure and current accounting arrangements
- Business bank statements, ledgers and reconciliations
- Fee-income summaries and records of outstanding balances
- Previous accounts, payroll information and details of specialist reporting needs
Working with Taxwell
- Start with a conversation. Tell us how you work, what is already in place and where you need support.
- Agree the services and fee. We confirm the work, responsibilities and information required before the engagement begins.
- Build a practical routine. We agree how records will be shared, raise questions and review your needs as the business changes.
Before we get started
Does your service automatically include an SRA accountant’s report?
No. A statutory or regulatory accountant’s report, client-money review or other specialist assurance work is a separate requirement. We discuss the appropriate specialist arrangements and confirm explicitly what is included in the engagement.
Can you work alongside our practice-management software?
We can review the reports and exports available from your existing systems and agree a practical way to share the accounting information. We confirm any additional setup or reconciliation work before starting.
How do I get a quote?
Use our quote-request page or arrange a conversation with Taxwell. Tell us about your activities, the records you keep and the services you need. We review the requirements and agree the scope and fee with you.
